On hot summer days, you’re probably aching to find ways to cool yourself. If you don’t have a pool that you can jump into or a sprinkler to run wildly through, try indulging in one of these simple, yet wonderfully refreshing summer sorbet recipes. We’re sure they’ll limit your amount of time in the kitchen, giving you more time to stand in front of the air conditioner.
1 c sugar (plus extra for the rim)
2 C water
1 C freshly squeezed lemon juice
1-2 C vodka
1) Boil the water and pour in the sugar, stirring occassionally until dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool. Once cool, pour into a medium bowl and add lemon juice and vodka. Put bowl in freezer for a couple of hours before using your ice cream maker (always follow manufacturer’s instructions).
2) For the best consistency, put back in the freezer for a few hours before serving in sugar-rimmed glasses.
4 mangos, peeled and cubed
1/2 C simple syrup
4 T lime juice
1) Purée mangos, syrup, and lime juice in blender or food processor. Freeze in ice cream maker according to manufacturer’s instructions.
